Made in Darkhan
JCI Nairamdal, Mongolia
In support of Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic growth, JCI Nairamdal created a program that partnered single parents, the elderly and people with disabilities with small and medium-sized entreprises through Made in Darkhan. JCI members found that over 300 community members were in engaged in household production in Darkhan-Uul, however many faced problems such as product development, marketability, low sales and lack of access to resources. The Made in Darkhan project established a market in 2016 to give these small-scale producers a place to sell. JCI Nairamdal and the Darkhan-based Association of Manufacturers and Service providers implemented training courses in business planning, project development, marketing and more, to give locals the resources they need for workplace success.
